Amy Goldsmith, the founder and president of GK Communications, is a former journalist and now an award-winning PR Specialist with more than a decade of journalism, marketing, media and public relations experience. Along with helping some of the world’s best known companies get their message out in a savvy, targeted and effective fashion, Amy also provides noted personalities, executives and even sales forces with media and public speaking training and image consulting.

Since founding GK Communications in 2000, Amy has represented an amazing variety of companies – all in very diverse industries. GK’s diverse client list includes companies in food, banking, consumer goods, architecture, natural products, fashion, healthcare and more.

Amy’s diverse experience before founding GK is far reaching. Past experience includes serving as the Director of Global Marketing and Public Relations for US Interactive where she oversaw the communication aspects of various corporate and business initiatives from mergers and acquisitions and regional expansions to general public relations, branding, internal employee communications and overall marketing strategies.

As the Associate Director of Development Marketing and Communications for City of Hope (one of the country’s top 10 not-for-profit organizations), Amy managed a 30 person staff and was responsible for overseeing the Video and Publications Departments, the Development Center Web site, and creating general marketing strategies.

Before this, Amy was reaching new heights as a journalist. She was a television news reporter for KCOY-TV (CBS) in Santa Maria, California, during which she interviewed President Clinton, Elizabeth and Senator Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich and former Texas Governor Ann Richards, among others. Amy also has reported for The Nashville Network (TNN) and has appeared on “Week in Review with Bill Rosendahl” on Adelphia Cable. Prior to Amy’s television work, Amy was an assistant news director, reporter and announcer at KUHL-AM (ABC), the top rated radio news station in Central California. Amy hosted a daily morning news show and a weekly public affairs show.

Amy’s experience began at Ogilvy PR, where she worked on various accounts including technology, healthcare, sports, automotive and political campaigns. Amy graduated with a degree in Political Science from UCLA.

Throughout her career, Amy has won several awards, including a PRo Award from the Public Communicators of Los Angeles and an Ace Award from the International Association of Business Communicators.
